Jo Davenport, a former athlete & fitness enthusiast, discovered the Pilates method in the mid 1990s after frustratingly failing to recover as quickly as she hoped from an injury. She quickly realised the benefits of the method, finding that her overall strength, flexibility & general
well-being increased. After practicing for several years in Devon, Jo developed an interest in movement dysfunction & decided to train with the Body Control Pilates Association.
Jo qualified as a Matwork teacher in 2000 and subsequently, in Advanced Classical Pilates. She subsequently went on to train with internationally renowned Polestar Pilates and is fully qualified to teach on all Pilates studio equipment.
Jo moved to Somerset in 1999 & was one of the first teachers to establish Pilates Matwork classes in Taunton. Her classes flourished & she continues to be as busy as ever with both matwork classes & personal training.
Body Control Pilates teachers work to a code of practice that governs teaching standards & professional ethics
